Over the last two and a half decades, Lawrence has trained and mentored working professionals drawn from financial and non financial industry backgrounds in matters of financial markets/products and risk management.     Prior to pursuing a full time adult education calling, he had more than a decade of working experience in treasury and financial derivatives trading and broking/marketing, internal audit, treasury settlement and credit administration.

 

Under the corporate banners of Standard Chartered, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Prebon Yamane Brokers and KPMG, Lawrence has counseled participants from central banks, government linked corporations, national treasury bodies, financial institutions and non FI corporations through numerous experiential learning workshops structured and delivered across Asia – from South Korea, China through to Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and westwards to India and Sri Lanka.     Outside of Asia, Lawrence has shared his expertise with the Sovereign Fund in Kuwait and in London.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honors) degree.

 

Lawrence continues to render professional advice and coaching on financial markets and risk management in his personal capacity and through professional alliances and references, shares his experiences across Asia at experiential learning sessions

 

Until only recently, he served for many years as the Regional Director of the Singapore chapter and on the Global Board of Directors representing Asia/Pacific  of PRMIA (Professional Risk Managers International Association

 

He now actively volunteers  on the  Founding Committee of the FinRisk Institute, a peer-respecting and supportive risk professional community seeded in Washington that connects industry practitioners, regulatory authorities, industry support professionals and academia across the world.   Check out www.finrisk.org
